Exposição Educativa: "ANNE FRANK - uma história para hoje" - Educational Exhibition: 'ANNE FRANK - A History for Today'

It is with great pride that I report to you, we can bring to the relative exposure Chaves  Portugal , ANNE FRANK entitled "A History for Today". Will be exposed in the Municipal Library between days 6-22 of November.

Were many months and many emails exchanged with Dr. Michael Silver of Human Rights Learning Project: past and present, to achieve this exhibition for free.

Given the enormous historical, cultural and educational nature that this exhibition contains, we invite you to visit the exhibition and its rich contents:

"1. The life story of Anne Frank is the thread running through the exhibition. The family's story reflects world events during and after the Nazi dictatorship.
2. The exhibition juxtaposes photographs of the family of Anne Frank with photos of historical events of the time, and shows how persecuted people, such as the Frank family, were affected by political decisions and actions of individuals.
3. This story is shown in 34 panels. In each panel, stand-giving and we discuss in greater depth a relevant topic.

objectives:

· Inform visitors about the history of the Holocaust from the perspective of Anne Frank and her family. Explain the facts and historical events that conditioned the lives of members of the Frank family, thus revealing the effects of Nazism on the lives of a family of German Jews.

· Show visitors that in all societies there is a diversity of people who are (cultural, ethnic, religious, political and other). However, in many societies, there are people who consider themselves superior to others, denying them the latter the right to equal treatment. Show also that these ideas can lead to discrimination, exclusion, persecution and even to murder.

· Encourage visitors to review the concepts of equality, mutual respect, human rights, democracy, etc., and their meanings for us.

· Bring visitors to think that a society in which differences between people (the working concept is that of "diversity") are respected not arise spontaneously. Besides the necessity of the existence of laws and their implementation, it is imperative that each individual is engaged and committed to this joint effort. Individual actions often have unintended consequences. "
